Gardens to visit whilst staying in Telford

Many of our B&B  Guests have asked for guidance on Gardens to visit during their stay. Telford is well placed geographically for a number in the area, all within 40 miles (under 1 hour drive)………. Dorothy Clive Garden near Market Drayton set in 12 acres on a hillside – formal and informal. Wollerton Old Hall Garden near Market Drayton intensively cultivated set in 4 acres.

Date: 22nd March 2017

A day out from our Telford Guest House

Summer is here, hot sun and a day off from our B&B…I think we are entitled now and again…to meet friends at Trentham Gardens. Only 30 miles through the Shropshire and Staffordshire countryside, which is worth the drive in itself. A modest entrance fee (especially for the over 60’s) and a wonderful Italianate garden to explore. There are boat trips along the lake (once part of the River Trent that flows through the estate) and Monkey World for children at the southern end.

Date: 22nd March 2017

Walks near Ironbridge

Coalport to Broseley and back. Start at Coalport near The Shakespeare Inn, cross over the Severn via the Coalport foot bridge and follow the road to the left up the hill and under the bridge. Follow the footpath signs and arrive at the Ironbridge to Broseley Road.

Date: 29th May 2016

Shropshire – Ironbridge – Benthall Edge

A walk near our B&B in Telford. Park in Ironbridge and walk along the south side of the River Severn (Severn Valley Way) towards the Power Station. Make your way up the long climb to the top – Benthall Edge. Visit Benthall Hall (National Trust) if you have time

Date: 6th August 2015
